1.
When the night is long and no end near;
then the angels delayed, prayers snuffed.
Fret not, draw your fervour, spear;
for greater is He, who with us, deer!
He shall make you into David uncuffed;
make you charge down the mountains tough!
Like Gideon, the strength of Amos, don't despair!
2.
For the Faithful draw strength in desolate plains;
then the shadow of remorse and oblivion strongest.
Stand your ground, the devil shall flee in vain;
soon your shield and sword with their bloodstains!
Never relent your prayers, Chosen One, contest –
lay your burdens to Christ, He shall be faithful, confess!
Be one in Christ, and conquer the four corners, Saint!
3.
Don't say, I but a Dane, a Viking, not like the meek;
don't look for the Greeks nor the scholars but fight.
Go out every day, sing battle chants, seek;
you are Gods juggernaut, like Nimrod at the keep!
The mighty Hunter of old, shine your Light;
make your stand and exalt your valour bright!
Those who have tasted Christ will not be found weak!
