In order to be a Man, the first thing you need to do is to throw away your Bible or any other selfhelp book! It may sound harsh, but before you can use them, you need to have discipline not consumption. The one thing I noticed, while studying theology, was that there is always one condingent in church or in seminaries. One bunch of faces, who take the spark fast, but don't bear any fruit, because it doesn't enter deep. Mat 13:1-23 They always do one thing very well -- being helpless. They always scrub for the next thing; the next Awakening or new teaching. Whenever a nw selfhelp book comes out, or online chart becomes popular, how to calculate your personality, they are also there. Its like asking about the streetsign, "Does this lead you to X?" and get a grumpy mans responce, no, sir, you have to travel that road, to get there!! You can't be lead by any discipline, not evenm reading the Bible wont help you, then you don't possess it in your heart, to actually implement it in your life, what you just found out and studied. You can find many people, who can get psyched, like Baron in Bakugan Battle Brawlers, but in the heat of the moment, they wanna throw the towel and give up. Don't bother wasting your time; or wasting your couches or bosses time or any friends time, then you don't wanna do something about yourself, but just have a nice time and chill!! If you gonna give up anyway, buy yourself a sixpack and work on that, like my father did, and ruined his life. Just pity yourself and hang around with your buddies, let it all run out, until there will be no tomorrow for your Family and Fatherhood. Don't look at others, look at yourself in the mirror and on the scale! 

When a Man takes a measure into his hand, be it a selfhelp book; the Bible; the MBTI test or something else, he already has a plan and his mind set, what and why he is doing it. He is not figuring it out, or trying to find himself, like in the song "Hit the Road Jack!" He already knows himself, what he needs to do. He is just looking for the price tag of how much. Just like in the Mall, the Woman, has to gawk all the offers, until she buys one thing, because maybe there's an offer she missed out on. The man just comes; sees the thing he was looking for and takes that! There are times, you need to think like a woman, and find the missed out thing; but mostly there are times, a Man needs to get shit done! And then nothing else exists, than You and that Purpose! Then you use the mirror, you just don't look into it, you wanna seee, how you look and correct youtself, for the occasion. Why is it then, I see certain people in church or in the self help venue, who are like cosplayers or gamers, who try out a new video game, but not with the intention, to get somewhere in their lives? No Skill; No Effort, just consumption and cruising while sipping your coke or latte. Does it even surprise you, then people cannot usffer slurs anymore and have to sensor speech or clapping, because their attention span and feelings cannot take anything more real tahn a simulation. 

Don't listen to Motivational Videos, because their not meant to make you feel good, their like the "I want You" Poster which invited to Ivo Jima; Pearl Harbor or Normandy!! but people use them like buddhist prayer wheels -- you pay a fee, scroll some wheels, and puff 1000 prayers done. People are so lazy, they cannot even snuff 1000 prayers, because they become so casual about God and their spiritual life. Too bad you cannot do pushups like that... :o :v 

Every time, you let somebody else do it, and delegate it to the other side, you miss out in being a Man. Women have such a right, then married, that their husband does this and that, but if you're a Man, you absolutely; univocally, wants to get His shit done, by Himself. I know, you have heard from selfhelp books, that great leaders delegate! Why do they do that? To encourage their subordinates and future leaders, to try themselves in the game and business. They still mentor around them and help out, thenever they are lacking and mess up. But we have made it a strange cult of delegating everything, like Homer Simpson "Why can't somebody else do it?" while paying the beertab in the bar as he was facing the shotgun grin of the bartender, who want him to pay it!! Men lead by example and delegate, to encourage, as they give to their students and sons/daughters, what they have learned. They don't delegate as a means of getting back to watching TV; sipping beer; playing games etc. When you delegate, you do more work, not less. Because you already need to know, whom you are delegating it; how shall he receive it, how you gonna work out his shortcomings; what you gonna do next and how troubleshoot, then this one was a failure and gave up!! And then comes the part, then the shit gets done. Eventually. Isn't it better to first learn how to do it yourself, before you learn, how to pass it on? 

Learn to keep your word. Keeping your word doesn't start from keeping your word, but becoming aware, what is inside your heart and what comes out of your mouth. There is no use in trying to keep your word, then you're an Alp!! A Word can die, because you started a pointless argument with somebody, while you there on a mission to get some stuff from point A to B or a message delivered. Because people can get offended and remember your name and face; it would be really troublesome, then that person, who you had the fight with was related to the person, you needed to deliver something. Or the same person! Whenever you're about to give your word, think of its cost; and I don't mean, if you believe what you say, but if what you say, is sending you through hostile territory, and the next moment you might have a gang of angry bullets hounding you to your work or school or home, can you still say it? Jacob was really mad at his two sons, Simeon and Levi, who killed an entire tribe, for sex outside of marriage, because "Their sister is not a harlot" and that almost killed theirs!! They got a curse for that, Gen 49:5-7 You should not follow the law, but the heart of the law; which is the reason, selfhelp books and videos, or reading the Bible are of no help! If you can only digest, but not understand, you are like a binge eater on an eating contest. You just shit it out later and find no nourishment from it!! Do it for real, not just for the lols or for a trophy! For after the Trophy or goal, you have to do it again! And then you have to do it again! And Again! Because this is your life. This is the very reason, why in Eastern religions, then the student starts to fuss about, how he will be enlightened and what hes gonna do with it, or how its gonna be! They start pouring hot tea into their cup, and keep pouring until it fills and runs over, and the student will think the teacher is stupid, because he wasted so much tea! "Too much Too much!" and the teacher responds, "Your cup also holds too much, because you have so much insight already, while trying to become enlightened, What are you gonna do about it?" Try not to be so full of yourself that the teaching possesses you... for you learn something, in order to use it. You pour tea in the cup and then drink it! You don't fill your cup, then throw it away, and then fill your cup again!! Yet that is exactly what you do, then you go from selfhelp teacher to selfhelp teacher and from bible study to budhist ashram and so on and so forth. Eventually you should reach somewhere, but if you treat your time and money like that, why should you be taken seriosuly. You don't take yourself seriously!! 

I wont deny you junkfood, when you work out, and have such a life style there you burn lots of calories, then it wont be of problem. If you're a couch potato and only work your keyboard muscles, then it will be a problem. Meditation can be a problem, then done overboard; fasting can be a problem then done with a different mindset; special diets can harm your body even training can kill your muscles, if you don't learn to rest. 

There is a time to work and a time to rest. From time to time, learn to take Sabbaticals and sniff the roses. It takes time to get a tree, and while you're not pruning it; watering it or guarding it from wild animals, who could eat it in its young state, you do something else, and let it grow! You get better perspective and connection with your thing, if you let it go, like an arrow from the bow. People burn out, because they do something too much. they heard somewhere, that in Russia, literates read 200 pages per day and seven days per week, so they want to get there now, and start doing it. And then they fail. And then they give up, because the goal was unreasonable, and they didn't figure it out!! Do you start from liftting 2000 pounds then you start working up; maybe 5000 is your first bet? Then why the fuck would you start from 200 pages, then prior to that you only scrolled your Iphone or read the titles on the newspaper!!??! 

Being able to loose yourself into a book, and stop caring about food or sleep, because the book is like your lover, and you keep fucking it, and your drive wont stop -- its rare, and more of a curse, than a blessing. Maybve you should ask their relatives, how it is, to hang out with such a guy, who one moment is there, but the next moment is gone. His body is still there, but you might as well stop talking, because he's in the zone... he wont be rexponcive for a while; 2... 3 hours minimum. Start from reading your comic book or actually reading the newspaper, and not just the title. Then work up to light novels; adventure books and Classics. 

Give yourelf time, before you hit the classics; for mostly you wont understand what the fuck they are talking about, before you get the vocabulary. It also helps against the urge, to make too complex sentences, what even you wont later comprehend. You need to learn the laymans terms, before you learn your Shakespeare. The world is filled with people, who have played it Diablo 3 level 20 Torment, but who die at level 1 casual, because they never try that. Its not awesome and cool enough!! And how smug they are towards the beginner. A Man wouldn't do that. Start from the beginning and work yourself up, but you want to enter the boss-level first and work yourself down!! That's what bottomfeeders do, because your focus is not on the finish line, but on bullying the newbies, so they would see how badass you are, and to get some bitches. That's mostly the reason, why people fail in becoming the leader or even the Man. Your effort is on the blowhorn than making the steam run the locomotive on the tracks! 

Learn to take hints and jokes. Irony and sarcasm should be your friends not enemies. But there it is, if you take your cosplay too seriously, then others wont be able to take you seriously enough. Learn to see yourself from others percpective and let go of your ego. There is nothing to prove in Heaven and no Scoreboard, so let it go! You just have to be yourself, no rush. Just do your thing and forget about the rest. That's what it means to be a Man. Have a nice day!
